This is Lagoa do Fogo, which means Lagoon of Fire, in São Miguel Island (Azores). The lake is inside the crater of a volcano that remains dormant since 1563. The whole caldera is roughly 3 km by 2.5 km and the water is almost 300 m below the rim.
Nice atmosphere in this picture, good composition
Magnifica foto. Il contrasto dei colori in primo piano con il cielo nuvoloso è bellissimo
Stupendo blog, fotografie di grande pregio. Mille complimenti di cuore Orofiorentino
Ciao, grazie mille per il commento. Sei molto gentile. 🙂
Magnificent view! I like that you included the bright flowers in the foreground, they give a really nice contrast to the water and hills.
Thank you! I was lucky to find some colorful flowers, as often in that place everything is just green.
Wow, I would love to see this place. I like the flowers in the photo.
Thanks! The island is well worth the visit.
That was a very beautiful landscape, Carlos, and picture. Especially with those flowers in the front. Very nice.
Thanks, you are very kind.
Beautiful; reminds me of home. No wonder the earliest Portuguese immigrants to Hawaii (mostly from the Azores) chose to stay.
Thanks for the visit and comment. Unfortunately I never visited Hawaii 😦
This is a really wonderful landscape!!!!!!!
This island has magnificent views. Thanks for the visit.
